The Fields are Ripe for Harvest

This kept going over and over in my mind this weekend. Sometimes we get so busy with "stuff", even good stuff, that we forget the reason we are on this earth.

Mark 16:15
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
NIV

And Jesus also said:
Mark 12:30-31
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
NIV

Lord. let me hear the cry of those who don't know You! I recognize it may not sound like a hurting cry, but let Your Holy Spirit lead and guide me to hearts that need a Savior, and let Your love pour out of me and onto them.

John 4:34-36
Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.
NIV

Does Anybody Hear Her?

She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying
But the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even knows she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

She is yearning
For shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away

If judgement looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her

Wow, I am guilty of just that myself. I seem to be taking care of my own issues and not taking time to help others, although I could find the time, when I think of those who took the time to help me I’m grateful for them. Powerful video thanks for the reminder.

This is an area I fail in constantly. I stink at serving others. It's not that I don't desire to (though I battle fatigue and that's part of what I need to work on). It's really that I'm uncomfortable with some of the more practical ways to serve. And we don't have babysitters so giving of my time becomes a big challenge. Truly, I have to find my way in this area. Thanks for this post.
Blessings,

Our pastor touched on that same subject yesterday. Always a good reminder!

And, I love that song.

It's funny....when I hear that song - God begins to convict my heart about how many times I am running in 100 different directions! Thanks for reminding us what life is really about!
Have a great week!
