Cute little lion cub...

Isn’t it cute? Don’t you just want to pick it up and snuggle it?

This lion cub is a metaphor for what sin can represent to us. It starts out seeming so sweet and cuddly and safe, but when it grows up- and it will- it can destroy us.

I have sat with a few different women who were involved in an adulterous affair or on the threshold of one. They would tell me how wonderful this relationship is, that it makes them feel so good and how could anything that feels so good be wrong?

Ladies, any time we are entertaining the thoughts of another man and how much we enjoy spending time with him and look for ways to connect with him- it is dangerous! We have to recognize that satan doesn’t come in like an attacking lion- he comes in like a sweet, wonderful, playful little lion cub. He says to us, “What harm could it do?”

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. NIV

There’s nothing sweet about sin. It is bitter all the way to the grave.

Unforgiveness and gossip are just as dangerous. Our words can seem so harmless, but they can lead to bitterness which can harden our hearts and render us lifeless and devoid of the fruit of the Spirit; peace, love, joy…

Acts 8:23
For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin." NIV

1 Peter 5:8
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. NIV

Ladies, I woke up at 4 AM and this was stirring in my heart. I knew I was to share it with you. I pray that these images will stick with you and remind you of the fact that when the enemy is tempting you with sin that seems so sweet- it’s ultimate goal is to “grow up” and destroy your life.

Thankfully, we have a Savior that died to set us free- then He raised up from the grave and gave us victory over the sin that satan wants to hold us captive with!

Gal 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. NIV

Father, I pray that you would open our eyes to the traps that satan sets for us. Like Jesus Himself prayed, “keep us from temptation” and help us to walk in the freedom purchased for us at the cross. Lord, we desire to do Your will, give us wisdom and discernment in all situations. We love you Lord. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

thanks so much for commenting on my blog. i love this, sue. you're so right - we don't usually hear the roaring of the lion that is waiting to devour us. if that was his best tactic, he wouldn't very often succeed. i love this part - "but i have come that you may have LIFE, and life to the fullest." i think a lot of the time we know this truth in our minds, yet fail to really believe it in our hearts... and so choose to live according to the lie that sin is most fulfilling. i'm in the middle of this battle now. thank you for faithfully sharing what the Lord laid on your heart!

love,
erin

That is how Satan starts to deceive us starting things out so innocently, a look, a kind word, a kind gesture, Than satan comes in a says well your husband, never gives you compliments or looks at you that way, never notices your new hair cut, or whatever. All he does is sit around on the couch and doesnt do anything. He is so lazy.So on and So forth. Then Bam you are caught up in something before you know it. What we need to learn as women is that our affirmation needs to come from the Lord and not from our husbands or other men or other women. We need to know that God loves inside and out, whether we feel good or we dont feel good. It is called unconditional love. God doesnt look down and decide well you dont look all that great today so I wont love you and I will ignore you. No He sent His very best, His one and only Son to die, So that we would know the LOVE, God has for us.We need to always have the whole armor of God on. We always need to be praying and in the Word, When we are not or let our guard down, Satan swoops in and tries to Kill, Steal and Destroy. Satan knows Gods Word better than anybody and he tries to use it to get us to fall into temptation. We have to use that Word right back at him and Tell him NO!! God says that I am the head and not the tail. If God if for me than who can be against me. NO weapon formed against shall prosper. So on, so forth. The problem is we live in a society driven by sex. If your husband or wife doesnt make you happy, go find someone else and this is not what God has intended. He intended sex for the marriage bed and the marriage bed alone.

We need to pray against all these lustful spirits that says its okay to be gay, have an affair, or have sex before marriage. We need to tell people what the Bible has to say about it and pray for them.
I know from experience that when you are in the midst of temptation that you arent always willing to listen to what people have to tell you, but because I had people continually praying on my behalf, I was able to come to my senses and realize that this was just plain WRONG>

Dont let Satan steal what God has for you. There is no greater joy, than the Joy of knowing that you have God who loves you no matter what. Make God number one. Ask God to show you His abiding love. To be able to feel His presence in your life. He will be more than happy to make Himself real to you

We are all in this together, no matter what you are going throug. Have hope that you are not alone!!
