Are you sinking???

Just a word of encouragement to any of you that are walking through storms today.

The Lord sees your tears, He knows your pain.
He is there with you.

Turn to Him and let Him be your comfort.

Matt 14:28-33
28 "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
29 "Come," he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said,

"why did you doubt?"
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
NIV

Jesus called Peter out of the boat and Peter came....huge step of faith. But then, when he took his focus off the Lord and focused on the wind and waves, he started to sink.
Jesus' response was of course to pick him right back up again.

I am always caught by His words..."why did you doubt?"

The Lord doesn't expect us to doubt, even in the midst of the storm.
He wants us to trust.
Even when the circumstances seem precarious and frightening.

Heb 12:1-3
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
NIV

Fix our eyes on Him.

Even though the storm goes rages on around us, we have a place of peace and comfort in Him.

If you've fallen, reach up, He will pull you out!

Thanks for the encouragement, Renee. My discouraging circumstance is so little compared to many other things going on in other people's lives, but it has been a constant struggle for me. That four-letter D-word, diet! LOL!
A favorite website of mine has gone down for upgrades, and while they are down, my scale is up! Scary, yet, I know that God has a plan for me and if I perservere, He will be there and give me strength in the battle.
God knows our weaknesses and that is where He is strong.
Thanks for the gentle reminder.

Thank-you for being obedient to our Father and writing this post. This is EXACTLY what I needed to read TODAY!!

I MUST choose to keep my eye's steadfast on him, rather than my situation, and my circumstances.

The Lord continues to teach me that he's more concerned with how I'm dealing with the journey...(each step...each day) than reaching my destination. As I've pondered this, it's causing me to really REST in him; because NOTHING, catches him by surprise.

What a God we serve--the waves that cause us such fear are UNDER HIS FEET!

Yes, our eyes fixed on Jesus!

Interesting to note in those verses how the wind died down... often we feel like the storm will never stop, but it does. It doesn't mean we won't face more, but our Lord Jesus is there to help us through.

Oh, how I have to remind myself of this over and over...this fact of keeping my eyes on Him and being able to walk on top of the storm in my life came to me so long ago and it holds true to this day. What an amazing God we serve and love. Oh,how He loves us to come to us in our storms...oh, how He can calm us while the storms rages around us, or He can calm the storm. thanks for reminding us of where our focus needs to be. Blessings, may you have a great mother's day..
