From Inside Israel

My thoughts and prayers are with all those involved in what is happening in Israel right now. Mark and I talked last night about the way of life in Israel. Can you imagine going to sleep and wondering when the sirens are going to go off and hurrying your family to shelter when they do? Their familes get used to it, but it is terror no less.

I am also so saddened and outraged by the way Hamas shield's their weapons with innocent lives. Launching rockets from a school house, giving the Israelies no option but to destroy them. But then Israel drops flyers all over town to warn them of impending attacks. It is obvious who cares about their people. When Mark was in Israel, he was touched by their respect and love for life.

Their response has been called disproportionate. I guarantee you, if Canada (which they never would- I love you all my Canadian friends! ) was launching rockets on us, it would be shock and awe, not a "proportionate" response. You don't reason with a bully, you take them out. I feel awful for the innocent lives being lost, I pray the Palestinians themselves would rise up against Hamas.

I wanted to share this with you from Joel Rosenberg:
Here is an article from withing Israel

Psalms 122:6-7
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

"May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels."
NIV

Praying with you, Sue. The whole situation has broken my heart and weakened my knees to prayer.

My youngest son said me the other day (while I was watch CNN news.) "Why are those bullies fighting with God's people. God already promised them they could have the land, that's just silly."

Praying for His people.

I've had Israel on my heart alot lately too. I'm currently in the Psalms in my read through the Bible (which started in 2007 :) and it seems everywhere my heart is drawn with love towards Israel... I'm praying too!

My heart has been heavy over the past few days for the People in Jerusalem, especially for one little 4 year old boy, Abadalkader, and his family. He is one of the kids my husband and I sponsor through World Vision. Whenever there is violence and war the lives of bystanders are at risk--Through both physical and psychological damage. The people who live through this will not be unchanged.

My prayer for days has been that God would bring peace to His people Israel and the land that He gave her. Having been there, this is their "normal" in certain parts of Israel. We stayed at a Kibbutz while we were there and the first thing they showed us, was the community bomb shelter.

It is disgusting and did you see the demonstration in Florida that was very anti-semetic? So sad.

It really is horrible to see what's happening. I join you in praying for peace in Israel.

Yes... praying for Israel here as well. Had an interesting conversation with my daughter the other day. It seems she caught a report on a mainstream media news channel that made it seem as though the Israeli's were the terrorists. I explained to her that they didn't show you what prompted these attacks, or tell you the history. I hate that more and more of an anti-Israel sentiment is creeping into our nation. It seems to be, anyway. Maybe I'm mistaken. I hope so.

Unfortunately I think you are right Heather.

Wow, God sure has all of our hearts touched by the same thing lately.

As I went out to get the mail yesterday, I glanced around at the children playing together and our neighbors our spending a few minutes catching up with one another and immediately my thoughts turned to Israel. It crossed my mind what a privileged life we lead here in the US - and I found myself thanking God for the life he has given us and praying for those in Israel who live in constant fear and turmoil.

Sue, thanks for the reminder to continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Israel.

Thank you for putting this out there...I am subscribed to Joel Rosenberg's blogsite, so I receive his updates. How it breaks my heart to hear the news. How comforting to know the end of the story. How we do need to pray for Israel and all involved. Jesus is the only answer. Blessings on you for doing all you do. Mary Lou

Yes praying here, as well.

Wow. That post touched my heart and I agree with Heather. The media and the world are trying to turn our hearts from Israel.
Thank you for being willing to remind us to pray for them.

I too have been saddened by what's going on in Israel and the loss of innocent lives, too. We all need to be praying for Israel.

What is being done to Israel is truly awful and not at all reported fairly.
