My 300th post!!!

(To the girls who I had dinner with last night...thank you, I had a blast!!!)

I scooted right by my 200th post without noticing , so I thought I'd catch this one. Who knew I had so much to say....(my husband rolls his eyes and shakes his head).

So for my 300th post I thought I would start listing all the colors my hair has been.... ok, no that would take too long. I know, I'll sing for you....yeah, that's not working so great either.

Well, I'm plumb out of ideas, so I am going to once again, take a big risk and invite you to ask me questions like I did for my 100th post. I must say though...you were relentless! Feel free to ask me about my favorite flower if you like! :-)

Leave me a question in the comments and I'll answer in the comments.
Please be gentle. No anonymous questions! :)
And can I tell you that I have loved "meeting" you all. Blogging has been a blast for me, especially because I am normally sipping a cup of coffee while in my jammies reading your comments!
Thanks for being such an encouragment to me, you've gotten me through some rough times.
Hugs,
Sue

Don't forget to sign up below at the giveaway so I can bless YOU!

Cool! 300 posts! God has MUCH TO SAY THROUGH YOU!!! You are a blessing. The only problem I have with you is this...
Are you ready?

Okay. I'm really bugged by the fact that you live so far away and we have to have "virtual coffee". That really stinks...but I guess it's better than nothing!

Do I have a question for you? Well...Why did you feel led to blog, and how did you get other to come visit it? As for me...I can't remember how I found you! I just...did! And I'm thankful!!

Ok, let me start...
Sue what is your biggest dilemna today??

Well, thanks for asking...it would be HOW TO FOLD KING SIZE FITTED SHEETS??? I still have yet to figure that out!!!

Joan and Gina,
Thank you, you are so sweet.
I wish I lived closer too. Blogging and virtual coffee is fun, but I sure would love to hug your necks once in a while!

Gina,
I started blogging after we handed over the church we planted...I still had so much to say and wanted a venue or should I say soapbox!
It has been so cool meeting women all over the world and becoming online friends.
I don't know why people come and visit me! :) I used to be able to spend alot more time out visiting blogs than I do now, and I met alot of you that way. I love it when I do have time to read others blogs though.
I'm so thankful for each friend I've made.

Hi Sue. Whoohoo! Happy 300th. That's a lot of writing... :~D

So what's your favorite topic to blog about? Or maybe you have more than one "soapbox" issue?

Blessings!

Hey Sue, Congrats on the 300th post. Okay I don't have a question, I have a request. I think you should have your hubby take a picture of you sitting in your comfy chair, wearing pj's, drinking coffee and reading comments. wink* and then post it! Come on...we all want to see! wink*

Hope...well see about that! :)

e-mom,
Lately I would like to talk alot about politics but I have refrained!
I really love to encourage...and if you look in my labels sidebar, you will see that apparently I really like to talk about marriage! :)

I hope that this blog is a place of "hope" and encouragement, that's my main goal.
Thanks!

Ooops! Sorry, here is one that I accidently deleted from Miriam at :

Sue,
Wow!! 300!! Congratulations! I don't know if I will ever get there!?
Questions:
What is your favorite coffee?
Do you like candles? What is your favorite scent?
What is your favorite cookie?
What is favorite season of the year? Why?
Okay, I will stop with the questions. :) I love coming to your blog! Praise and coffee are two of my favorite things!
Coffee is best enjoyed with a close friend(s), warm conversation esp. when it is about the Lord.
Blessings to you,
Miriam :)

Shari, so funny you should ask, I just had lunch with a church planter yesterday.
We have helped plant 2 churches so far. I really had a blast with both of them. I guess the hardest part was that for the first one we had to set up church in a high school every Sunday so it was a lot of work. But like I said, I loved it! Of course, later on the stresses and challenges of day to day ministry can be quite tiring at times.

Ruth,
It's hard to say...I seemed to spend a weekend in labor with each one- except of course Lauren (adopted), that birth was easy! :)

I thought they were supposed to get progressively quicker and easier, no such thing for me. Thankfully, I gave birth to 3 healthy babies so it's all good!

Praise and Coffee said...

fhl, thank you!

Miriam,
Favorite coffee: caramel-vanilla latte
Candle: I love the smell of cranberry-orange, but alway love vanilla too!
Favorite cookie: I've never met a cookie I didn't like. But I really love the ones at Mrs. Fields that are chewy chocolate dipped in white chocolate :P
Season: Autumn! Love the colors, smells and crisp air.

Thanks for the sweet words! I may come rant about politics with you too :)

Shari,
Just realized I didn't answer you completely.
The first church we were at for 4 years but not as senior pastor, Mark was the children's pastor.
The 2nd one Mark pastored for 6 years.

Congrats Sue!

Okay I have a question..

Where did you get your darlin' glasses in your bio pic? Now that Sarah Palin has brought new attention to eyewear, I'm thinking I need to get myself a cute pair of backup glasses to my contacts. I love yours!

Love ya,

Lisa

Praise and Coffee said...

Thanks Lisa! I usually just wear them for reading, but it's getting increasingly worse. If I don't have them, I'm begging someone to read a menu for me.
I bought them at a little shop while out of town, don't remember where, sorry! They are no special brand name.

I love Sarah's too!!

Wow! Congratulations!

I haven't read all of the comments, so this may be a duplicate. Do you receive feedback from non-believers who have accepted the Lord due to your blog?

Many more, girl! I don't post enough, but love reading.

Love finding more christian bloggers. Hope you are having a blessed weekend. Your blog is very nice too. Come by and say hello anytime.

Amy,
We worked next door to each other. We actually met when his Grandfather was in an accident and killed right out in front of where we worked (me at a Christian bookstore and he at a muffler shop).

He proposed on June 9, 1987 at the beach on Lake Michigan. We were married on Nov. 21, 1987...coming up on 21 years!!

Marilyn,
I do get many private emails from readers. Not necessarily non-believers coming to know the Lord, but recommitments and lots of inquirys about marriage and relationships. I am so honored that women would trust me with their hearts and lives. I'm blessed to get to do this.
Thank you!

Sue,
Congrats on your 300th post! I have never really paid attention to how many posts I have made...I guess I need to go check and see if I have some big anniversary coming up, too? :)

Here is my question: What has been the biggest hurdle that you have encountered parenting an adopted child?

Having a sister (18 years younger than me) who is adopted - I have seen some interesting challenges to parenting an adopted child. My sister has some personality character traits that no one else in our family has - and it's been interesting watching her grow up. Then again, there are some characteristics that she has learned (mannerisms, etc.) that marks her as part of our family! Adoption is an interesting and incredible journey!

i know I scooted my way past 100, too, without realizing it.

you've blessed a lot of women and marriages in your "300" Sue!

Kelly,
Definitely attachment issues. Being that she had lived 2 years in an orphanage when we got her, she was used to living by "survival."
She did not trust and tried to control everything! She didn't know any different.

Parenting an adopted child has been TOTALLY different for us. What worked with our other kids rarely did with her.

The fact that she came to us starving was a huge part of it.
We had to teach her that she could trust us to feed her and care for her and that she didn't need to do it herself anymore. We had to use holdings instead of spankings.

I am so glad that I spent time learning about attachment disorder, I would have been at a loss with this child if I hadn't.

I basically secluded her to myself and immediate family for months to form a strong bond with her. She was constantly "mommy shopping." She had so many caretakers in China that she never knew - when I would be leaving and the next one Mommy was coming.

It took well over a year, but now she is doing great! Very happy and well attached. We are very blessed.

Wow... 300! Aren't you just the chatty cathy... and I'm so glad you are! I have loved being given even a small piece of your thoughts. The Lord is always faithful to speak to me through them... whether a word of conviction or encouragement, it's always much appreciated and needed! God bless you, Sue!

Thanks for the response. We also did the set up routine in a school for the first two years - then moved into a section of a stripe mall and three years ago purchased the entire mall, renovated it and utilize every square inch of our building.

We have new people coming to the Lord weekly - it's been incredible to be a part of! The rewards far out weigh any challenges we've faced!! I LOVE seeing lives changed!!
