Don't Feed Your Husband Dog Food

Photobucket

Thank you all that filled out the surveys last week, they touched my heart in so many ways. They really ranged in response. Some of you are happy and content with your marriage and some of your hearts are breaking more every day. My heart broke to read some of your words. I will be using your input to write these articles every week.

One of the things I want to share with you today is about marriage conferences. I would encourage every couple, whether they are in their honeymoon stage or two days away from divorce court- attend a conference!

You will never regret applying your heart to learn more about marriage.

My husband and I have attended several and were never in a postition to NEED to go. But, just like we go to the doctor for check-ups or take in our car for a tune-up, our marriage can benefit from regular "maintenance."

Here is a link to some very popular and good conferences from Family Life, Weekend to Remember Conferences, see if there is one in your area soon. There are so many in the month of February!

Here is a link to an article that I think will really surprise and bless you:
She Fed Her Husband Dog Food

I am praying for our marriages, and I want you to know that marriage was God's idea, when you are struggling- go first to Him, He knows best how to fix it. I believe it- I've seen it!

I loved the dogfood meal testimony! Praising the Lord for being the Healer of all things! I join you in praying for the marriages of our sisters who shared last week.

My marriage is in a good place, but all through my fellowship, marriages are crumbling. Just last night, one friend told her husband she was leaving - and my heart breaks for them both.

I lead a women's Bible study on Thursdays, and we've decided that in addition to our regular study, we're all going to participate in "The Love Dare" as a group, beginning Feb. 1st. It's the book that was birthed out of the movie "Fireproof". We're all very excited. Our marriages range from great, to brink of disaster... but we will ALL benefit from being more intentional about loving and respecting our husbands. Can't wait to see what kind of fruit the Lord yields through this!

Thanks for these Tuesday posts. Love them!

Great story. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for the work you put into the topic of marriage and how to draw our strenth from the Lord.

I can attest that God has used things like seminars (Love and Respect to name one that especially impacted us) and even the recent film, Fireproof. We seem to have had a habit over the years of yo-yoing...things were wonderful, things felt bad, and back and forth...but recently God has been doing wonderful things in our marriage. Just seeing Fireproof last fall was huge in our relationship, showing us once again the incredible value each of us needs to place on our marriage and what a precious gift it is.

I don't visit here as often as I should, because every time I do, I am blessed...thank you for being used of God!
~Tammy
