I was chatting with my friend Leigh this week (one of my best buddies!). She is an awesome Bible study teacher. She was telling me about her study last week and something she said just jumped out at me and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.
She was talking about this verse in Ephesians:
Eph 6:11-13
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
She was talking about this verse in Ephesians:
Eph 6:11-13
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
NKJV
She said, “so, if it has flesh and blood on it, we are not to fight it.”
That is so simple, yet incredibly profound (she gives the credit to the Holy Spirit because she didn’t even have it in her notes!).
Think about it- does the one you are fighting have flesh and blood on it? Then you are fighting the wrong one.

Let’s just chew on that one a while! I know I have been.

Wow...that gave me something to ponder this morning!
This is something to chew on. In light of my week and something that has caused me heartache, this is just what I needed to read this morning.
Hmmm. Interesting. Never put that together just that way before!
That has always been one of my favorite verses since my early teen years. It is so powerful and true when we get down to the nitty-gritty of an issue.
LOVE< LOVE< LOVE your new sweet, comforting header!!!!!!!!
AH
men!
Such a simple truth but so profound.
I might have to share that one with my girls.
This will added to family peace.
I'm new to your blog, but I'm so glad that I got here to read this post! What a lovely, insightful treasure. Thank you! I hope to visit more often.
Quite humbling... how often I engage in the battle I am not to wage even though I know it is giving the true enemy a foothold in my heart. God's word is so complex and yet so very simple.
Thank you for sharing.
Oh, I needed that...I have definitely been wrestling with the wrong thing! Back to prayer again!! Thanks for the reminders!!
What an amazing and thoughtful word. So often we battle against other people in the "name of the Lord" when it isn't even our fight. Wow! Thanks for such a greata word.
Thanks for sharing this...I needed a bedtime snack!
I'll definitely be chewing!
P.S.
Love your new header...very nice.
Thanks for the reminder and wise words.

Thanks for your prayers and for stopping by! We're headed out to Estes Park tomorrow and Royal Gorge on Monday...I'll let you know if they are places to stop at when you get to travelling. I have this feeling that they are going to be wonderful!
Your friend Leigh has a way with words!
Have a great holiday with your family, Sue. Praying for you!
Love in Him,
Holly
I saw your new header on Bluebird Blog and thought I would check it out. It's very nice.
I like your post - flesh and blood - a good reminder not to fight it.
Ooo . . . that is so good. I needed to read that this morning. You know how Sunday mornings can be!
BTW, love your new header more each time I visit!
Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm struggling this afternoon with something someone said that hurt me very deeply and this was very timely.
Great post to chew on! What a simple yet profound insight!
