Two shall become One ~ Whatever...

Photobucket

Today is a simple thought, but the most profound concept.

Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived,
God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap.
NKJV

Notice the word "whatever"
It applies to...whatever.
Every day, every thing we do.
Whatever.

Here the Message Bible opens up another facet:

Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

Powerful words.

I'm praying for our marriages.

Thank you for this reminder in relation to our marriages. We become so familiar with our spouse, we sometimes forget....you've given me much to ponder.

Sue - I always enjoy coming to your blog. Always a good Word from God.

This is a timely word for anyone. I just celebrated my 24th anniversary on Valentines Day. (you can read about it on MY blog.)
We are never married too long to benefit from good biblical teaching.

Thanks - In Him,
Beth

Sue, this is soooo powerful. I recently had some interaction, on facebook, with a man I knew over 20 years ago. It was innocent at first...pictures of our family...what are you doing now? that kind of thing. But it quickly turned into him confiding in me about some things, and reaching out in a way that was way over the line in my way of thinking. I promptly told him that I didn't feel comfortable with where it was heading, and he is no long on my "friend list". The thing that shocked me was how quickly this got out of hand. Thank the Lord that I am seeking to walk with the Lord daily, and am happily married, but how many women are not happy and fall into online relationships? I now see how quickly that could happen. When I think of what could have been reaped by this scares me silly! It really is sobering, and a reminder that we must be sooooo on the alert! We must be proactive in fighting for our marriages,no matter how old we are. We must constantly think ahead at what could potentially be reaped by whatever it is we are "sowing"! We cannot afford to be lazy! Thank you for this weekly reminder! We are in a battle!

Hey,Sue! I wanted to let you know that the last comment was from me. I signed in on a different account. I feel it is important that I share that it was me because I want people to know that NOBODY is ammune to these things. Satan is on the prowl! I never saw it coming! Praise the Lord I sensed the Spirit saying, "YOU NEED TO SHUT THIS DOWN!" And I did.

We must be alert and protect our marriages. For the glory of God!

I wrote a post that was inpired by this experience...I hope you'll come by and read it!

God Bless!
Keep up the challenge!!

Gina,
Thanks for sharing that. I have had several requests that I ignore. If I don't know a man or know a good friend of theirs I don't accept them.

And your story is not unique I'm sure. There could be a real danger in connecting with old guy friends.

Some connections don't need to be made! :)

This is so true in our marriages. We are enjoying each other more after almost forty years of marriage, this coming June. We are together 24/7 but stive each day to make sure we keep short accounts and express our love in different ways. This reaping and sowing also spoke volumes to me about some people in my life who have sowed to the whirlwind and now it's ALL come home to roost and it's ALL someone else's fault and they want me to bail them out. It is so sad to see a life destroyed because of what they sowed for so many years and still refuse to bow the knee to the One who could give them a plumb line and anchor. Sorry, to go on and on...it's just where I am today and this verse spoke to it. Blessings on you. You do so much for all of us with your posts.
