Wisdom

1 Cor 1:18-25
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

19 For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."

20 Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher of this age?
Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him,
God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,

23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,

24 but to those whom God has called,
both Jews and Greeks,
Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom,
and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.
NIV

As I watch the news these days (I am a FOXNEWS addict),
I am amazed at the foolishness of this world and how it clamors so desperately for wisdom.

God is the source of all wisdom.
To delete Him from the equation is mere foolishness.

He, after all, DID create everything we see.

Just a thought.

So glad that God has already written the final chapter and we know He wins!!!! We have to constantly remind ourselves that we are in this world, but now of this world.

I am blessed by your post. Very thought provoking. The world just doesn't know His wisdom because they can't know it without knowing the Great Wisdom-giver. Penless thoughts was saying that God has already written the final chapter and we are part of it! Thank you Jesus!

And a great thought it is, too. Sometimes it is so hard to realize what happens in our lives is for our good, whether we like it or not. God's wisdom is unsearchable, we cannot comprehend it. Don't know why I keep trying....:-)

PS- Thanks for commenting on my blog. I've added you to my Bloglines account! :-)

....and a very good thought at that.

"Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. (Prov.4:7)

"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

I rejoice with you over your sweet son. So good to see you had such a wonderful time with him. God is so good!
