Psalms 23:1-3
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
3 He restores my soul.
NIV
David wrote this before coming to the crown. Yet he believed that God would be his shepherd and give him everything he needed.
He had great confidence in the Lord.
He believed his God.
He knew his God.
He makes me lie down in green pastures…
He is the provider of all nourishment I will ever need, physically and spiritually.
He is all sufficient.
Let’s not think that it’s enough to pass through His green pastures, He wants us to lie down there and live off of His daily bread.
He leads me beside quiet (still) waters…
His Word is a cool drink to those that are weary and thirst.
He refreshes us with His Word, He is a fountain of living water.
He restores my soul…
Those words bring such comfort to me.

Here is the description of the Greek word “restore”:
OT:7725
To pull in again, put (again, up again), recall,
recompense, recover, refresh, relieve, render
(again), requite, rescue, restore, retrieve,
(cause to, make to) return, reverse, reward,
say nay, send back, set again

He is so faithful and good. He wants to make us new again!

He is so faithful and good. He wants to make us new again!
His only requirement is that we become His sheep.
That we surrender our lives to the Shepherd of our souls.
If you are reading this and you have never made Jesus Christ the Shepherd/Lord/King of your life or you’ve walked away and want to re-dedicate yourself to Him, you can do it right now. There is no specific words to say, just pour your heart out to Him. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and come into your life. He will make you new. He will become your Shepherd.

Let's GO GREEN- let's lie down in those pastures and drink from His cool water!

I love the oasis that He brings us to...our place of life, refreshing, rest. I, for one, never seem to take enough time in these places provided for me to regain strength.
Thanks for the reminder.
Big Holy Spirit sigh ....
I am feasting on that definition of 'restore.' Thank you for sharing sister.
This is one my favorite scriptures thanks for posting on it. I do need to take the time to let him restore my soul. I like that too.

I liked this post. I have been needing some green pastures lately.A little peace and quiet and someone else taking care of the meals---I'm in!
That is such a great post!
Thanks for a great post. Sorry it has been so long since I commented, but I have been reading. I am always so encouraged when I stop by for a little praise with my coffee. Thanks.
How are you? I love this post. Very relaxing and comforting.
Loved this word! Thank you, Sue! You know, the enemy wants us singing, "It ain't easy being green", but just like anything that comes from him, it is a lie! Surrender is sweet, isn't it?
