I Regret My Past

Do you regret the things you've done in the past? Regret can be a wonderful teacher, it keeps us from making the same mistakes again.

However, we don't want to spend our time re-living those past sins, we want to move on. God has a plan for us and it's time to stop beating ourselves up. We don't need to see ourselves through our past, we need to look at our lives as God does, with hope for our future. He loves us so much and wants us to see how precious we are to Him.

I put together a short video about the subject. I have to be honest, it is difficult to bare my soul by putting out these videos- you know how we girls tend to hate seeing out own pictures??? Well, it's even worse to see yourself on video, but if they help and encourage one person, it's worth it.

Much love!
Sue

This ties in beautifully with our current SS class on sanctification. We were discussing yesterday the difference between guilt and conviction. We came to much the same conclusion. Godly sorrow leads to repentance... but it's the enemy who wants to keep us wallowing in guilt. Once we turn from our sin to the Lord, to hang onto that guilt diminishes the freedom that Christ brings. Conviction serves to draw us TO the Lord... and we do learn through our mistakes, but to live back THERE, doesn't bring glory to the Lord who came to give us life abundantly. :)

You did great! I know it's hard to watch yourself on video, I don't like it either, but what you had to say was very moving and it encouraged me today!

Awesome!

One thing I have learned is that when God sets us free from those "past mistakes" - there will be times in our life when those same tendencies seem to creep back into our lives. I've discovered that these are the times that the enemy would have us think that we were not really set free from that habit, etc.....but, this is our time to stand up and proclaim that God did INDEED set us free!

Sue, you have such a ministry through your blog! I pray God continues to use you in a mighty way!
