Happy Valentines Day Friends!!

The contest winner from Two shall be One ~ Tuesday is:
Jennifer !!! Congratulations!!!

NOTE: This contest was hosted here, but the prize is coming from our wonderful Darlene over at...

I think it is so cool that she loves you girls so much, she did a giveaway to bless our marriages!

Thank you so much Darlene and Christian Women Online, we love you!!!!

On this "day of proclaiming our love" let's remember that it is better to give than to receive, so don't let satan get you all worked up about what you expect your loved one to do for you.

Honestly, I'm not much into this holiday because it is so commercialized and can cause us to forget what real love is.

Here's what "real love" is:
1 John 4:10
This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
NLT

1 John 3:16
We know what real love is because Christ gave up his life for us. And so we also ought to give up our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters.
NLT

Happy Day All!!!
Sue

Good Reminder of what real love is supposed to be. I am not into this as far as having to do something for my husband because hallmark tells me to. I would like to think that every day is day to love him and show him what he means to me.

Thanks for pointing us to Jesus and not to our mates. Only Jesus can meet every need and every expectation. He never forgets us and loves us with His everlasting love...

I have to agree with you about this holiday, it is too commercialized. I feel the same way, and I posted that on my blog, and I was expecting to get a few rotten tomatoes, but I am glad that you posted what you posted!!

Thanks
Ronnie

Valentine's Day isn't too big of a deal in Ukraine -- though we DO have a Hallmark store here. We thank God on this day that He would see fit to bring us together (unbelievers at the time), rescue us from our wretched selves (on the same day, no less!), grow us up in Him, and then send us to the mission field! What a glorious God who loves us more than we can ever imagine!!

So true Sue, so true. Love those verses. I have a problem with the commerical side of Valentines Day but it's so easy to get sucked into it when the girls at the office get flowers. However, they get it once a year, I am fortunate enough to get presents on a regular basis, just because.... now that's better!
But Jesus' love is the best because it's unconditional!

Happy Valentine's Day, Sue! About a month ago, I came home from my a Varsity Basketball Game, where I was watching my daughter, Brooke, cheer. As we were eating a little snack before bedtime, I began fiddling with my wedding ring-only to notice that the diamond was gone! My heart sank. I felt like the breath had been knocked out of me. Sadly, it was gone. More than likely, being swept up by the school custodian. I've felt so "out of sorts" that past few weeks. Well, this morning, my husband gathered my two seventeen year olds into the living room before school and handed me a beautifully wrapped little package. Lo and behold, he had a new diamond-a brilliant, very beautiful diamond (much bigger than the first)set on my wedding ring. My heart was overflowing. All I could think was, "Isn't this just like God? Blessing us way beyond what we could think or say?" I truly expected my husband to replace my diamond......but never in a million years could I have guessed it would have been such a magnificent diamond. Let's all be encouraged today that GOD loves us more than we can think or imagine. And, one day, we will meet Him in heaven and it will be magnificent. ENJOY GOD'S LOVE TODAY. It is far greater than what HALLMARK has to offer! Blessings, Janell

I've been different places today when large bouquets of flowers were delivered, balloons, roses ... Most people dip into their budget and spend when they really should be just lovin' each other! Ya know?
I'm so glad my hubby and I celebrate V-Day every day!
Great post - Happy V-Day Sue!

Amen Sister! Valentine's Day used to be a HUGE source of frustration for my husband & I...I wanted all the pomp and circumstance and he was just like, "well, you know I love you!".

Needless to say it only took us about 8 years to figure out that neither one of us was happy about the "expectations" and we decided to drop it all and just celebrate the fact that we loved each other and that was more than enough!
