Have a good laugh on me!

Here's one that I posted in April, you will get a kick out of it.
This picture looks just like the cat in the story.

Many years ago, I had this cat. Her name was Baby. She was very sweet, but had some rather annoying traits. One was her voice, she had the kind of meow that sounded like nails on a chalkboard, but at least she only did it in the middle of the night.

She also had this strange habit of backing up to something and shaking her tail as if she was spraying it, but thankfully, nothing ever seemed to come out. I had heard of male cats doing this, but never females. When I had my first child it became very annoying because she would do it around his things, as if to mark her territory.

So one day I decided to call the vet and ask if there was something I could do about it. As I explained to the receptionist how she would back up to things and shake her tail as if she was spraying, the woman seemed just as perplexed as I was. She sat there silently for a moment and said “who is doing this?” and I explained once more that it was my female cat and I wondered if she had any advice for me. She then very sweetly said that I should probably call a vet, and it was at that moment that I looked down at my address book and realized that I had called my gynecologist.

I hung the phone up as fast as I could and prayed that they did not have caller ID. I was so embarrassed that I never even called the vet. I just got a spray bottle and drenched the cat whenever she shook anything.

The drawing is this MONDAY for the "Praise and Coffee" free giveaway!

Make sure you get over to the October 1st post and comment if you haven't yet!!

That will be my 100th post, so check that out also!

Since a merry heart is good like a medicine, watch this fun clip!

Love the new picture at the top of your blog...makes me want to go jump in a pile of leaves and then come inside for a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

Sue
I've really enjoyed your posts. Loved this one especially having been a former "pet" of two cats, one of whom had a voice like yours.

Btw, you've been tagged for crazy eights, please check out my post.

Patty,
I used when I taught a message about "Who are you gonna call?"

Are you going to go to God who has the answers? Or are you going to go to the world, because that makes as much sense as calling the OB for a cat!

I have sooooo done something like that before but it was face to face with a customer. I had been working 16 hour shifts and I was brain dead. They felt sorry for me I guess.
But I still feel like crawling under the table just thinking about it.
At least the situation for you was not reversed. Imagine talking female stuff with the vet? :)

Oh, that is SO funny. I can just imagine her consternation! Tee hee!!!!!

The cat story and the baby brought such laughter.
The other day I wanted to complain to my cable guy and rang up the building contractor and nearly gave him a h\earful.

I just checked my missionary daughter's blogspot and lo and behold there was a comment from Praise and Coffee and I burst out crying...I really did...cause at this very moment my precious girl sits by her brave self in a Bangkok Hospital waiting for yet another biopsy with the hope that her good and sovereign God will intervene the cancer cells in her cervix...I was just bawling that you would leave her a comment knowing that your God prompted you to do that...so I come to your blog weeping to thank you and read the "Ask The OBGyn" story and now I am laughing so hard and then I watch the clip and I am ROTFLOL...all in about two minutes from wailing in tears to laughter...thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou...you made my day!

Sue @ praise & coffee said...

I loved your story!! I am notorious for doing things like that, too. This one takes the cake.

I used to have a beautiful black kitty, too. He passed away this year and even though he came with the marriage I loved him more than I would have ever thought...
