Come to Me...

Matt 11:28-30
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
NKJV

That is one of my favorite verses. This word has walked me through many hard times when I have felt overwhelmed and discouraged.

We don't find rest in anyone or anything but God!

Very true words - thanks, as I'm very weary and really looking to God for some guidance. It sometimes helps to have a reminder.

I walked through many storms in confidence knowing that just like Peter - my Jesus was ready to pull me up if I started going down. Interstingly enough the only one with Peter was Jesus as the others all remained in the boat.

Someday we may actually cross paths in person!!

I love this scripture out of The Message:

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Amazing and encouraging anyway you read it! Thanks for sharing!

I am Jen...from Ontario Canada. Shari suggested I connect with you. I have a passion for China though I have never been, and although we currently have 4 children, have taken initial steps to adopt from this amazing country. We are currently on hold with this plan, waiting on God, and timing. After reading this post, I thought you might be interested in my post for today.

Bless you and your family.

I love this verse, so rich! This was the theme for our ladies retreat a few weeks back. The title was: Come to Me...just as you are
