AMEN!!! When my daughter was in the hospi...Amen.... AMEN!!!

When my daughter was in the hospital after a severe burn injury, I remember someone telling me that they were praying for her and telling God they would accept nothing less than 100% healing, with no scarring. I thought, "How presumptuous!" It's not that I didn't believe He COULD heal her like that, but I didn't think it my place to make such demands. As I look back on it, I'm actually grateful for her scars. Because she bears them, she is given immeasurable opportunities to explain what happened to her and how the Lord DID heal her. Her scars are our Ebenezar (1 Samuel 7) of sorts. The Lord might not have healed her the way some may have liked, but He healed her in the way He knew best, and the way that would bring Himself the most glory. I praise Him for that.

At one point we weren't sure that she would be healed at all, but were in grave danger of losing her. I remember telling someone that I knew if He did, He would give the grace to sustain us. I firmly believe that He gives us grace as we need it... in all of His fullness.

I'm sorry for your loss, Tiffany. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for you... only a fraction of it. I'm praising God today that your faith has remained solid, and that You have chosen to continue to abide in Him, in spite of receiving such a difficult answer. God is singing over you this very minute.

HeatherHeather Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11377396008136738093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1636139298576673779.post-83257906194344382302008-01-27T19:35:00.000-05:002008-01-27T19:35:00.000-05:00With this kind of faith and God's kind of power, w...With this kind of faith and God's kind of power, we should never lose hope...even at the 11th hour.Scarlethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17560614073319109150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1636139298576673779.post-21182312037350744982008-01-27T19:34:00.000-05:002008-01-27T19:34:00.000-05:00It is so amazing to see that her faith was as grea...It is so amazing to see that her faith was as great as it was, and yet so many times ours is not. And I'm glad you reminded me to clarify that.

Tiffany, I'm so sorry for your loss. We need to have the faith that God will ...I agree. We need to have the faith that God will do the impossible. However, we have to be ready for the times when God chooses not to do the impossible the way we want.
When we lost our daughter almost a year ago, I prayed with every ounce in me that God would save her. I also had no doubt that he would save her. For some reason, he chose not to save her. At first, I felt very let down. I had faith larger than a mustard seed, and yet my mountain did not budge!
I worry when people take this promise and think that if they have enough faith, God will make everything O.K. We tend to turn this into "God will make everything O.K. where we will be happy with it." That is not always the case, but we still have to keep our faith in God.
I feel like I am rambling, but I just feel that your faith will be rocked to the core if you are not ready for the possibility that God will say no to your cries.
I do want to say that he did come through for us with amazing support from friends, family, and our church. He has also worked in amazing ways through this experience to help me grow.Tiffanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09697692339338289756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1636139298576673779.post-83406999108796345942008-01-26T21:22:00.000-05:002008-01-26T21:22:00.000-05:00Cher,I'm with you. I really don't like being in the place where if God doesn't show up, I am going to be 'dead meat'. I have been there many times and I will have to say that it scares the bajeebes out of me. I will say this! God shows up! You never know what he will be driving, but he shows up!
