Change!

Are you tired of that word yet?
It is the "it" word of the day. Change.
From the White house to my own house, our nation is in a state of change right now.

I feel pretty safe in assuming that many of you are also in a season of change.

Some changes are huge- moving, major job changes, marriage, divorce, children. Others are smaller, yet meaningful changes. Some changes are internal such as attitudes and dreams.

I believe that the body of Christ is going through changes also. There seems to be a common thread in the conversations that I have with Christians lately. It is a sense that the Lord is calling us closer to Him and that things are starting to shift and shake within our churches.
Some of the changes are painful, yet necessary for us to become the "spotless bride" that He will ultimately return for.

One thing is for certain...we're being taking out of our comfort zones! The Lord is calling us upwards and onwards and it's rattling our cages a bit! Don't get the wrong idea, I am not some hyped up person talking about how God is 'bringing us higher in Him' and yelling a whole lot of empty promises at you.

My "comfort zone" ...

To read the rest of this article, hop on over to the Internet Cafe' and I would love to hear your input also!!!

Our hope is in Him,
Sue

Great post. "The Lord is calling us upwards and onwards and it's rattling our cages a bit!"

He is calling us to fall on our faces, repent and return to him. The gap between the real and the pretenders is widing. People are going to have to get off the fence and be FOR GOD or AGAINST GOD. The game playing is coming to an end.

AMEN Susan!
The call upwards is always preceded by falling down before Him!

I couldn't agree with you more.
Thanks,
Sue

Sue,
This is so true. OUr theme this year is "Preparing for the bridegroom" and our board has been in major upheaval this year like nothing I've ever seen before. WE have really been examining why. I believe that God is burning away the chaff. I thank you so much for this confirmation that the Holy Spirit is moving. Like Susan said, the time is coming when everyone will have to make a choice.

Hopping over. My comfort zone, that's for sure! But then that's how we stretch and grow, right my friend?

Thanks Sue. I've written several times in regards to entertaining - and our fears (staying within those zones) all go hand in hand.

Happy Weekend.

You are so right. He is stretching all of us in the body of Christ and drawing us to Him, thru the changes. Blessings..

My husband LOVES change while I find change a challenge... God certainly had a good laugh when connect Kevin and I as we are such different people yet, somehow make an awesome team (at least I think so).
Our church is in a huge season of change, it's not change because of decisions made in a board room or staff meeting. It's very subtle yet, somewhat painful, unlike anything we've journeyed through in almost 24 years of pastoring. All I can really say for sure is it requires daily seeking God, walking humbly, and simply trusting in my Jesus as He has the answers.

Yes a great post for the times we all seem to be facing right now.
I tend to fight change at the start and then when I bow down, the best comes from him.

change - in my view - is one of the most healthy things a person can experience. No matter how hard, it keeps things fresh. There is nothing as stinky as stagnation!
